Protein Balls

They may look like something you don't want to eat, but I promise they are good.  The first time I had protein balls was before running a half marathon several years ago.  My mother-in-law had made them and brought them along.  I have been dying to make them, but never got the recipe from her, so today I created a recipe of my own!  They are so easy to make, they only take four ingredients, and are loaded with protein!

Ingredients

-2 scoops of Chocolate Whey Protein
-8 Tbs. oats
-5 Tbs. Natural Peanut Butter
-3 Tbs. Agave Nectar

Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl and form into small balls.
Makes 9-10 balls
1 serving = 1 ball

Yummmmmy!

Runner Girl

I realized this week how much I have missed running.  I finally went on a run all  by m y s e l f this week.  I love running with hubby, but I forgot how much I LOVE running alone.  Since we have been married we do our runs together, but I think I need one a week by myself :-)

Running to me is so much more than a form of exercise.  It is MY time for ME.  I love getting in the "zone," when I forget I am actually exercising and instead find myself thinking, dreaming, rocking out to MY music, problem solving, and relaxing.  Relaxing while running? Yes, I think it's possible.

One of my goals this year is to run a marathon, the good 26.2.  I have run several half marathon's and many shorter distance races, but I am ready to push myself.  I get so excited seeing how capable our bodies are at doing hard things.  I don't have a set marathon date yet, but stay tuned.

In the mean time, over the weekend Ty and I ran one of the funnest races I have ever done.

The Color Run.

This is me

After a little peer pressure I officially have a blog.  I have no idea how to use it, but thank you Ashley LeMieux for making it.  I don't know how to write a blog, but I guess I will start with a little introduction.

I am a simple girl living a crazy life in Las Vegas, Nevada.  I left my beloved hometown in Arizona to accompany my sweet husband as he pursues his education and follows his dreams at UNLV where he is attending the Doctorate of Physical Therapy Program.

I fell in love with fitness and the human body in high school and continued my education at Arizona State University with a major in Exercise and Wellness.  I currently work as a personal trainer at a boutique personal training studio, Method Motivation and am involved with the non-profit organization, Children's Fitness Foundation.  I created this blog in order to share my passion about fitness, food, and my journey as a newlywed finding my way in Las Vegas.

Now let's get active!
